Spinning of Wheel Probability:

A spinning wheel is disc on which some numbers are marked and it has a pointer. This wheel is free to rotate. The event is spinning of the wheel and when the wheel comes to rest the number at which the pointer indicates is the outcome of the experiment.

Illustration: An unbiased numbered wheel is rotated.Write all the possible outcomes.

Solution: When an unbiased wheel is rotated, the nine possible outcomes are :  1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9

Illustration: An unbiased numbered wheel is rotated. Find probability of getting a number less than 3.

SolutionThe favorable cases are 1, 2 so the total favorable outcomes = 2

Total outcomes = 9
